Ocean and Earth Training Specialists are a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) based in Broome, offering a range of up-to-the-minute training courses to the mining, maritime, building, construction, agricultural, tourism, hospitality, sport and recreation industries.
Identifying the need to have a nationally recognised training facility in the region, Ocean and Earth Training Specialists niche derives from delivering these specialised courses to the Kimberley and Pilbara markets in a timelier and more cost effective manner than its Perth counterparts.
Training to a diverse community
Ocean and Earth Training Specialists has a strong focus on providing specialised training to the Kimberley area and offers assistance in training to a diverse community. People with disabilities, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, youth at risk, people over 45 and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds are all recognised by Ocean and Earth Training Specialists and are supported in their training to provide them with greater employment opportunities.
Ocean and Earth Training Specialists is seeking funding under the Competitive Allocation Training Program designed to:
- Meet the skill requirements of the industry
- Help people who are under-represented in vocational education and training to gain new skills and employment
Ocean and Earth Training Specialists also recognises the importance of offering training to the Indigenous community of the Kimberley and are supporters of the Indigenous Education Strategic Initiatives Program (IESIP). One key objective of IESIP is to close the employment gap between the Indigenous and non-Indigenous community by increasing the training opportunities that are available. Ocean and Earth Training Specialists offer the training to assist in bridging this gap, and can work closely with students to ensure the right skills are instilled for future employment.
